Example Project: Brand Design for FC Cincinnati
With great interest in sports branding, and the common thread of being a new business in town. The IDL submitted some concepts to Cincinnati's newest Football club. Here are 2 of the concepts we proposed.
• Shipping Container Parties. Imagine a high end bar, modern lounge and play spaces, pop up shop, and gourmet snack cafe. All providing exciting immersive FC|C brand experiences to people throughout high traffic areas of town. On Game Days Toyota could provide shuttles to Nippert Stadium in the new 2016 Avalon. And the shipping containers could even be pulled to location by the Tundra proving they can haul more than just space shuttles!
• FC Brand Identity Evolution 2017 and Beyond. After analysis, it is clear branding for FC | C is off to a great start! The crown/ footbol shape on top of the logo gives a great iconic look to the team. The winged lion also has exceptional branding value. We think for the first year it is good to get the name out there with the FC font to be exceedingly large. But as the brand evolves for next year we would recommend putting more emphasis on the Lion in the Crest. Look at all the ornate details of the Premier League teams. Especially Man U. That was a team that was constantly coming out with cutting edge designs throughout each season. This uniform up as a quick example. It can be used as a talking point of reference to kick off a FC | C 2017 brand evolution project!
Project: DGL / Baby Genius Toy Line
Our client came to us with the the challenge of putting together a line of new toy concepts for the Baby Genius Brand. After a deep dive into watching the show, and learning about how the brand has been evolving we started to brainstorm via email exchanges with DGL Toy's VP of Product Development. We created 14 concepts for our client to submit to the Baby Genius Licensing Team. After that 12 of the concepts were approved to proceed with development or approved with minor changes. With buyer meetings fast approaching for our client we worked aggressively to work on orthographic development drawings for each concept to be sampled. In addition we worked on packaging for each of the items we created. One of our favorite items in the line were these Stylized Roto Molded Characters that were sold along with their own personalized Wind Up Submarines.
